The great midwestern states are home to some of the premier craft breweries, and Illinois is no exception. From Chicago to the southern part of the state, you’ll find some great options for an incredible hand crafted brew.  Here’s 6 of our favorites:

Flossmoor Station Restaurant and Brewery

Dean and Carolyn Armstrong opened a brewpub at the historic old Flossmoor station in 1996. Since then Flossmoor Station has won numerous awards and recognition from the World Beer Cup, Great American Beer Festival and Beverage Testing Institute to name a few. Beer fans and aficionados look forward to their high quality brews including the “The Great Eight House Beers” and the “Brewmaster’s Specials”.

Revolution Brewing

Located in Chicago, Revolution Brewing is the largest craft brewery in Illinois. This popular brewpub produces about 50 different beer styles every year. Since it opened in 2010, this award winning brewery has been a favorite among beer fans with its year round brews like the Anti-Hero IPA, Eugene Porter and Bottom Up Wit, as well as its seasonal and specialty brews.

Two Brothers Brewing Company

Two Brothers Brewing was founded by, well, two brothers, named Jim and Jason Ebe in 1996. This 100% family owned brewery produces year round beers, including Wobble IPA, Ebel’s Weiss and Domaine DuPage French Country Ale, as well as seasonal and artisan beers. Aside from making brews, it also hosts special events throughout the year including the Two Brothers Summer Festival.

Bent River Brewing Co.

Found in the heart of the National Registered Historic District of Moline, Bent River Brewing started as the Koski Home Brew Fixens Ltd. in 1993. Several years later, this award winning brewery now produces over 10,000 barrels of beer. Aside from its brewpub in Moline, it has also opened a brewery and tasting room in Rock Island.

Pete Crowley is the man behind Haymarket’s award winning brews. Specializing in classic Belgian and contemporary American beer styles, he has won over 50 local, national and international awards. One of their popular brews, The Defender American Stout has won the World Beer Cup Gold Award in 2014 and has received the Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival.

Pig Minds Brewing Co.
