SweetWater Brewing Company

Located in Atlanta, SweetWater was founded by college roommates, Freddy Bensch and Kevin McNerny in 1997. Named after the Sweetwater Creek, this award winning brewery specializes in “hoppy, aggressive and incredibly fresh ales” and allowing only a 90 day shelf life for its brews. It has been named as one of the country’s top 20 craft brewers by the Brewers Association in 2015 and has received numerous awards at the Great American Beer Festival, World Beer Cup and US Open Beer Championship, to name a few.

Terrapin Beer Company

Founded in 2002, Terrapin was established by Brian “Spike” Buckowski and John Cochran in Athens, Georgia. Their first beer, the Rye Pale Ale, won the American Pale Ale Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 2002. Since then, this popular craft brewery has won numerous awards as well as fans with their year round and seasonal brews.

Creature Comforts Brewing Co.

Like any successful craft brewery, Creature Comforts was founded by people who have the passion for making unique and high quality brews. Located in Downtown Athens, this popular craft brewery is found in an old 1940s warehouse which has won an award for outstanding rehabilitation by the Athens Heritage Foundation. It also has a tasting room that offers its signature beers like Athena and Bibo, as well as its seasonal brews.

Monday Night Brewing

Monday Night Brewing was founded by Jonathan Baker, Jeff Heck and Joel Iverson in Atlanta in 2006. The three met in a Bible study group and started brewing beer together on Monday nights thus the name. The brewery’s mantra and official motto, “Weekends are overrated”, has been the driving philosophy in their quest to produce high quality brews that are meant to be shared and enjoyed.

Red Brick Brewing Company

Georgia’s oldest operating craft brewery, Red Brick was known as Atlanta Brewing Company before changing its name in 2010. Its beers are not just available in Georgia but in six other states, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina, as well as in Germany. This Atlanta based brewery is a favorite with its award winning brews include its flagship brew, IPA Hoplanta and other year round and seasonal beers.

Wild Heaven Craft Beers

Found in Avondale Estates, Wild Heaven was established by Nick Purdy and Eric Johnson. This fast rising craft brewery aims at becoming one of the country’s greatest breweries. Their craft beers such as Emergency Drinking Beer, White Blackbird and Eschaton, to name a few, are inspired by a mix of European traditions, American innovations and Southern charm.
