The craft beer scene in Arizona has seen quite the rising trend as of recently. When you just have to get out of heat, make sure to check out six of the best craft breweries in the state and grab a cold hoppy one.

Four Peaks Brewing Company

The building where Four Peaks’ brewery is situated used to be the home of a creamery built in 1892. Now, its brews have become one of the most awarded in the state and have been included in New Times Best of Phoenix from 1999-2015. Aside from the main brewery and pub on 8th Street in Tempe, it also has a tasting room on S. Wilson Street and two pubs serving great food in Scottsdale and Phoenix

SanTan Brewing Company

Since it opened in 2007, SanTan has become a favorite craft brewery in AZ. This multi-awarded brewery has received recognition at the AmeriCAN Championship, US Open Beer Championship, Canfest Reno, Great American Beer Festival, and has also been selected as the “Best Brewery in Arizona” by the Phoenix New Times in 2013. This Brew Pub located in Chandler is also famous for its signature Stuffed Burgers and Brewhouse Pizza.

Dragoon Brewing Company

In 2011, Dragoon started with just three people, Bruce Greene, his son, Eric and Tristan White. Now with more than 30 team members, this Tucson based microbrewery has become known for its quality brews. It only makes about 30 different beers in a year and only two of which are are available all year round, the Dragoon IPA and Stronghold Session Ale.

Lumberyard Brewing Company

Before opening Lumberyard, husband and wife team, Winnie and Evan Hanseth, opened Beaver Street Brewery in Downtown Flagstaff in 1994. Sixteen years later, the Lumberyard was born and has become one of the most sought after beers in Northern Arizona. At the “Yard” they believe that it is not just about the attitude, it’s also about the “altitude”.

Sonoran Brewing Company

Founded in 1996, Sonoran started with the simple goal of making great tasting brews. Less than 10 years later, this Phoenix based brewery has continued to deliver its promise and has become a fan favorite. The White Chocolate Ale is probably its most popular brew and has earned fans from near and far.

Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co.

Arizona Wilderness is the first brewery in the town of Gilbert. Since it opened, this young brewery has started making waves in the brewery scene. It was ranked number 1 out of 10 best new breweries in the world by RateBeer.com in 2013.
